FAQs

 

1. I am having difficulties completing the online form?

If you experience difficulties completing the online form, please contact Isabel Bilous, TrusTECH Communications Manager (T: 0161 276 6964; E: Isabel.Bilous@cmft.nhs.uk).

2. I work for the university am I eligible to apply?

The North West NHS Innovations Awards are open to people with an employment or honorary contract with a North West NHS organisation. If you hold an honorary contract, please select the name of the NHS Trust you are associated with in the 'organisation' field.

Also, please note that if you are successful, the prize money will be made payable to the NHS organisation to use to further develop the product or disseminate the service across other NHS organisations

3. I work for a GP surgery (or other contracted out service), am I eligible to apply?

Unfortunately, we can only accept entries from people employed by a North West NHS organisation. However, if you are working on a project in collaboration with your PCT we can accept the entry from the PCT contact. If you are successful, the prize money will be made payable to the NHS organisation to use to further develop the product or disseminate the service across other NHS organisations.

4. When will I be notified of the outcome?

All applicants will be notified about whether their application has been short-listed or not by Friday 09 October 2009. If your application has been short-listed, you or a representative from your Trust will be required to attend the awards ceremony on Thursday 12 November 2009 (TBC).

5. I'm concerned about the security/confidentiality of the information contained within the form

All applications received by TrusTECH will be kept confidential. Only employees of TrusTECH, its competition partner NHS North West, and the judging panel will see your application form. Furthermore, the NHS North West and the judging panel will be required to sign a confidential disclosure agreement (CDA) before receiving you application form. TrusTECH will not pass any information on to any other third party with out seeking your consent.

The website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to provide the highest possible levels of security for the survey process.

An SSL Certificate enables encryption of sensitive information during online transactions. Each SSL Certificate contains unique, authenticated information about the certificate owner. Every SSL Certificate is issued by a Certificate Authority that verifies the identity of the certificate owner.

6. Can I send additional documents or products to support my application?

Additional documents or products can be sent to support your application. If appropriate, please attach any additional materials when prompted during the online application process.

Highlights of North West NHS Innovation Awards 2009

Over 100 people from within the NHS, healthcare, and private sector came together last on Wednesday 11 November to celebrate the North West NHS innovation Awards 2009 at Manchester Art Gallery. Now in its seventh year the North West NHS Innovation Awards is the only scheme dedicated to rewarding North West NHS innovators. Previous year´s awards have highlighted the vast amount of innovations that are taking place and being developed in NHS Trusts across the North West. It really does show that our region is at the forefront of NHS innovation and we hope this continues.
